balloons overhead made it even harder to leave Calistoga on a weekend.\u00a0 We were going to miss lots of great happenings.\u00a0 A chocolate buffet, wine and chocolate tasting and weekend farmers markets were just a few. \u00a0\u00a0Must make a note on next year\u2019s calendar to stay longer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=897\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-897\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rice fields\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Rice-fields-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=896\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-896\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Predators\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Predators-150x86.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"86\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=894\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-894\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"More predators\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/More-predators-150x106.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We took a few back roads so the trip to Chico was a bit bumpy. \u00a0\u00a0Miles and miles of fields, this being farming country and all, going on for hours.\u00a0\u00a0 We spotted dozens of predators perched above the fields watching for the smallest movement that might turn into a meal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=890\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-890\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dusters coming in low\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Dusters-coming-in-low-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rice, fruit and almonds (with or without the \u201cl\u201d) scattered helter<b>-skelter<\/b> over the flat lands.\u00a0 Had a few dusters come very close overhead as we passed rows and rows of neatly tilled brown soil and then rows and rows of green rice plants.\u00a0 Looked like a strange patchwork quilt spreading out in all directions.\u00a0 When we finally got close to Chico the highway turned into town roads and just past the traffic circles\u2026TRAFFIC CIRCLES\u2026HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO SNAKE\u00a065 FEET THROUGH 3 TRAFFIC CIRCLE?!\u00a0 John is still laughing at my expressions while making those turns.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=889\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-889\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Grandpas-Boys-Dorm-I-lived-downstairs-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=895\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-895\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"My old workplace, cleaning motel rooms\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/My-old-workplace-cleaning-motel-rooms-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pulled into our next home base, the Chico Elks Lodge RV Park, and set up camp before exploring to see if anything was left of Becky at 8, 9, 10, 11 and 20 years old and John at 25.\u00a0 Walk dogs, pay for the space, pizza dinner at a small
