For our first trip, we left our pups Millie and KatieBug at home to be cared for by our daughter and set off for a few days in Rockport, TX for our anniversary.\u00a0 The drive was comfortable and that afternoon we reached the first of what was to be an assortment of nice, not-so-nice and horrid RV parks.\u00a0 The park was one of the nice ones and the weather was beautiful.\u00a0 We spent the weekend relaxing and walking on the beach.\u00a0 I caught the first glimpse of porpoise when we walked out on the ocean on a long pier and was just as excited to see those big fish swim by as the two young children standing a short distance away.\u00a0 We were both squealing and pointing but I\u2019m guessing I looked far stranger than those kids.\u00a0 When it was time to return to The Woodlands, John got sick and the drive back home fell into my hands.\u00a0 The weather had turned cold and stormy and a strong wind blew the RV back and forth over the lanes as I drove.\u00a0 I was not at all happy with the responsibility of driving in inclement weather.\u00a0 I made John promise me that when we retired we would never drive in inclement weather, never at night and never over 4 hours on the road.\u00a0 Turned out to be a\u00a0 promise that he was not able to keep on several of our future trips and you can bet that I let him know about his promise each time it was broken.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
