Living in an RV is less about adventure and more about acceptance.\u00a0 The Serenity Prayer, \u201cGod grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.\u201d is something I have had posted in some form or other for as long as I can remember.\u00a0 It is now on a cross magnet in our hall.\u00a0 You would think that after 60 years, I would have learned, but noooo, I still expect to have the power to change things I don\u2019t like.\u00a0 My cousin Bob is always saying, \u201cIt is what it is.\u201d\u00a0 Living in an RV is what it is.<\/p>\n

As our day began, John gave me an unpleasant bit of information, then he tried to kill Ribbit, our drive to Ft. Davis was long with nothing to look at, our next RV park was a sad looking mud pit and while looking down to keep from stepping in mud, I smacked my head on the side of the slide out\u2026wow, those things hurt!.\u00a0 Yep, it was just one of those unhappy camper days.<\/p>\n

First thing this morning, John mentioned that the lake we visited yesterday was the one where that man was shot and killed as he and his wife were ski-doing.\u00a0 Good to know\u2026\u00a0 Then we drove out to the office and hooked up our towed. \u00a0Then began the eventual plot to kill Ribbit.\u00a0 John hooked up and I usually help with a second walk around but instead I stayed in the LilyPad adjusting the seat and wheel so I could drive.\u00a0 When I pulled out I heard a \u201cthud\u201d and looked back but Ribbit was still there.\u00a0 I had missed the fact that the rock guard was missing\u2026and, unknown to me at the time, so were the tow bars!\u00a0 When I pulled across the two lanes to the middle to head in the other direction I felt a hard jerk and looked in the rear camera to see our poor towed swerving all over.\u00a0 I slowly put on the breaks so nothing would smash together and stopped in the medium. \u00a0Yes, I was cussing.\u00a0 No, I didn\u2019t get pictures. \u00a0Yes, John quickly got out and remedied the problem in the medium of the highway.\u00a0 On hind sight, not the best place to be hooking up.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t take long and then we were our way.<\/p>\n

\"Next<\/a>\u00a0\"Border<\/a>\u00a0\"finally<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Starting<\/a>\u00a0\"Mud<\/a><\/p>\n

The drive was long and the scenery never changed save for a few mountains when we drew near to Fort Davis.\u00a0 We passed our RV Park the first time due to a broken down sign with letters missing.\u00a0 That missed turn resulted in unhooking the towed on the side of the road and me making a 3 point turn in the center of the two lane highway in the RV.\u00a0 At least we know it can be done!\u00a0 Pulling into the park, I cried for the first time in weeks and then proceeded to run over the orange cone that marked their sprinkler system. \u00a0All I saw were a few older trailers, mud, wet snow and more mud.\u00a0 We were too tired to look for another place so we set up camp and went to bed.<\/p>\n
