Dust and Smoke Behind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>36 dead mosquito bodies scattered around the RV floor today.\u00a0 My eagerness to stick-it-out-at all-costs is noticeably absent.\u00a0 Still sick so off to the Doc&#8217;s again. \u00a0Bad Mojo comes from three weeks of constantly breathing dust, no fresh air as office windows don\u2019t open, no air conditioning and high heat,\u00a0112 in the afternoon according to my cell phone app. \u00a0Fairbanks spruce pollen count is way higher than in Texas.\u00a0 For the last week Alaska\u2019s extreme dry heat, wildfires (6 so far) and wind has made the National News.\u00a0 John said he would not work my hours in the hot dusty office so we are tossing our North Pole adventure out and heading in another direction, probably for the coast.<\/p>\n<p>Up early to get LilyPad to Hector\u2019s Welding by 8am for, hopefully, an easy repair.\u00a0 Should only take 3 hours.\u00a0 We drove past things still on our \u201csights to see\u201d list in hopes of visiting before we leave the area.\u00a0 After driving around in the car with KatieBug until 4pm, it is finally repaired and ready.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=1994\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1994\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Really nice Denny's\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Really-nice-Dennys-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=1995\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1995\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"One of the better restaurants in Fairbanks\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/One-of-the-better-restaurants-in-Fairbanks-99x150.jpg\" width=\"99\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thank heavens for Denny\u2019s. \u00a0It\u2019s the most consistent restaurant for food in Fairbanks so far\u2026how sad is that?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=1991\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1991\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Riverview RV Park, just past midnight\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Riverview-RV-Park-just-past-midnight-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=1993\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1993\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"By the river deck after midnight\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/By-the-river-deck-after-midnight-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=2000\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2000\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Plane pontoons by the river, after midnight\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Plane-pontoons-by-the-river-after-midnight-150x99.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The longest day of the year has arrived, Summer Solstice.\u00a0 John got some nice shots of the midnight sun shining through the trees and one of the RV Park after midnight. \u00a0\u00a0Lots of festivities in town.\u00a0\u00a0 Thankfully it wasn\u2019t on our Bucket List as I am confined to the inside. \u00a0Another visit to the Doc\u2019s for additional medicines and a blunt warning\u2026time to go home or at least get out of the dust and smoke. \u00a0Monday we leave for the Fairbanks Elks Lodge, a less dusty area with a river view.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>36 dead mosquito bodies scattered around the RV floor today.\u00a0 My eagerness to stick-it-out-at all-costs is noticeably absent.\u00a0 Still sick so off to the Doc&#8217;s again. \u00a0Bad Mojo comes from three weeks of constantly breathing dust, no fresh air as &hellip;
