The Places You Will Go!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Is it morning?\u00a0 Hard to tell when the sun is up until 11:30pm and then returns a meager few hours later at 4am.\u00a0 Summer Solstice is June 21<sup>st<\/sup>, 24 hours of daylight.\u00a0 Big celebrations are being held all throughout Alaska.\u00a0 Getting easier to get to sleep at night but only because we have black out shades and pack foam squares into our skylights and fan vents. \u00a0Can\u2019t even imagine how a person survives in the winter with so much darkness, almost a full day cycle, and so much snow.\u00a0 The cold, on the other hand, I find very easy to love.<\/p>\n<p>John flew out this afternoon to Florida just when the weather cooled off here in Fairbanks.\u00a0 Now I\u2019ll have my wonderfully cool weather, even though it will be sprinkled with rain, and he\u2019ll be sweat soaked in the heat for the next week.\u00a0 What a shame that we both have such different ideas of \u201cperfect\u201d weather.\u00a0 Not planning any site seeing while he\u2019s away but maybe I can catch a picture of that illusive moose if I stay up till the wee, but still very much daylight, hours of the morning.\u00a0 Still seeing those brown egg droppings, fresh daily, so he\u2019s got to be around here somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Work again this afternoon.\u00a0 It is surprising how many Texans travel some 4,200 miles to spend the summer in Alaska.\u00a0 We have several Texans in the Park this week.\u00a0 The Park is over half filled now with more arriving each day.\u00a0 Great for business as long as I don\u2019t get bombarded with questions while trying to check people in and out.\u00a0 I still don\u2019t know everything about Fairbanks, but I do know that if you are a devout foodie, you will run screaming to Fred Meyers to cook something yourself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/?attachment_id=1903\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1903\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1903\" alt=\"Snore fest about to begin\" src=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Snore-fest-about-to-begin-99x150.jpg\" width=\"99\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Snore-fest-about-to-begin-99x150.jpg 99w, http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Snore-fest-about-to-begin-199x300.jpg 199w, http:\/\/perrellas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Snore-fest-about-to-begin.jpg 532w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 99px) 100vw, 99px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>No work for the next two days.\u00a0 Plans are to sleep in, relax and catch up on Facebook and emails after the cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry are finished.\u00a0 KatieBug is glued to me all day except when she is sleeping.\u00a0 She\u2019s claimed any soft area that she can hop up on to survey her domain before falling into a snore fest.<\/p>\n<p>Work all day Saturday then welcome John back to Alaska in the early evening and get packed and ready for our Denali trip on Monday.\u00a0 Work all day Sunday, drop KatieBug off at Noah\u2019s Ark Muttessori School and get to sleep early for our train adventure to Denali.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good old Dr. Seuss.\u00a0 His words never lose appropriateness, no matter what the age: You have brains in your head.
